Academy Peer Groups
Description & Guidelines
Thank you for agreeing to test-drive our Academy Peer Groups initiative! We hope you find this a valuable extension of the Get Better Clients Academy. The purpose of this group is to help group members build stronger relationships with each other while helping move forward in their business
Overview:
Groups will meet bi-weekly on a day/time that works best for the entire group.
During the first three meetings, group members will have the opportunity to get a better feel for the meeting format and the other members of their group. Should you feel that this is not a good fit, you may withdraw from the group. After the third meeting, however, we ask that you commit to your group for the remaining period (six months total). All groups will be closed to new members after their third meeting.
How it works:
We will assemble each group based on experience level, stage of business growth and other factors. Every other meeting will center around a topic and study guide developed by Ed. This will include a list of discussion questions to help facilitate meaningful conversations.
The other meetings will be “hot seat” discussions, where one group member will have the opportunity to present a specific challenge or question and get feedback, ideas and advice from the other members.
These groups can also provide help with accountability. At the end of each meeting, we encourage members to commit to one action item they will complete by the next time they meet. At the beginning of each meeting, they will be asked how they did with their action item commitment.
Kick Off Meeting:
At our first group meeting, an Academy facilitator will be there to welcome everyone to the group, review the vision for the group and discuss any questions. At that point, the group will become self-managed. This group is for your benefit.
Guidelines:
Although this group is self-managed, we want this to be as productive and valuable to you as possible so we ask that you always:
* Be committed to the group and the members
* Provide honest and constructive feedback to other members when asked
* Attend meetings regularly
* Come prepared to each meeting
What happens at the end of the six months?
After the end of the six months, we will send each group member a survey to solicit feedback on their experience. You will be given an opportunity to continue with the current group for another 6 months. If, however, you feel that your stage of business has shifted—or if you’d like to work with a new set of Academy members—you will have an opportunity to be placed in another group that better aligns with your situation.
